European Portable Battery Association (EPBA)

Structure

The EPBA is structured around the General Assembly of members and its Board of Directors who are supported by the Working Group and the Permanent Secretariat in Brussels.

The members of the Working Group are drawn from EPBA member companies.

EPBA Membership consists of 3 categories:

  • Regular Members: all companies producing portable primary and/or rechargeable batteries in the world and which, either directly or indirectly through affiliated companies, fully legally represented in Europe, manufacture and/or sell from that company in Europe

  • Associate Members: all manufacturers in related industries which manufacture and sell products and components in Europe. "producers in related sectors" means the following:

    a. companies that produce equipment that operates on portable batteries ;

    b. producers or assemblers of special batteries such as companies purchasing and assembling primary or rechargeable battery cells into batteries for use in specialised equipment ;

    c. any other company whose principal activity is the production or assembly of batteries and is invited to become an associate member following a unanimous decision of the Full Members.

  • Affiliate Members: all battery associations which have as members companies producing portable primary and/or rechargeable batteries anywhere in the world and which, either directly or indirectly through affiliated companies, manufacture and/or sell these batteries in a European country. EPBA counts 19 National Battery Associations as its Affiliate Members.

EPBA also has frequent contacts with other associations active in the battery sector:
